Charlotte Torlo has been announced as Town Hall and Symphony Hall Birmingham’s first Commercial Manager with an initial remit to arrange private hire functions, including corporate dinners, product launches, exhibitions, drinks receptions and awards ceremonies in the stunningly renovated, historic Town Hall, Birmingham.
Looking forward to the challenge, Charlotte comments, “The unique and flexible space of this beautiful 19th century building is completely inspiring. Every event that takes place raises the bar in utilising the space in different and creative ways.”
Built in 1834 as a concert hall and a place to hold public and civic meetings and receptions, the Town Hall has recently undergone a £35m renovation, restoring the much-loved building to its former glory. Simon Wales, General Manager, Town Hall says, “Key to Town Hall’s future success was the flexibility to host private and business functions alongside its role as a pre-eminent concert hall and a venue for community and educational activity. Consequently, it is equipped with the latest facilities and provides a unique and impressive backdrop for any occasion.”
Charlotte Torlo began her career in the events sector at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena before moving to the National Exhibition Centre as a Customer Co-ordinator. Wishing to build on her customer-facing experience, Charlotte then worked at the City’s International Convention Centre as an Event Manager before moving to her new role at Town Hall & Symphony Hall, Birmingham.
